@ILikePink - I did that! It was actually where I looked before I even called the salons. I didn't see anything remotely similar. :(
I was going to suggest Etsy too...even if you don't find one that matches, contact some of the sellers to see about custom orders and to get a quote. I think another bee mentioned there is somewhere on Etsy to post what you want and then sellers can bid on the job and you pick who you would like to make it for you (sorry - not sure what it is called though!). Otherwise, check out used wedding websites and ebay...
Hope you can find something similar because your dress and that veil together will be gorgeous!
Like @dance said, you can set up an alchemy request on Etsy to have someone make it for you! You explain what you want (I think you can include photos) and sellers will make bids to you for how much it would cost, etc. Then you can just choose who you want to make it.
Mrs. Poodle also has an Etsy shop, and I don't know that she's ever made veils, but she's incredibly talented and could probably make it for you as well. Her shop is here, if you want to ask her!

They will add whatever you want onto it, you just have to tell them exactly what you'd like. I bought my veil here and LOVE it!
Don't despair - I was also freaked out by the cost of veils (I wanted a very specific design) and got mine at obridal.com for less than 1/4 of the cost. Yours is very complex with the petals on the edges but couldn't hurt to forward pictures and get a quote...Kathy may just hook you up! :)
Also, I would be remiss if I didn't say...consider not having a veil. Your dress is GORGEOUS with the draping over the shoulder and with a long veil it may all be a bit busy. At the very least, when your dress comes in, try it with a long veil like the one you want and check the back to make sure it doesn't look odd.
Good luck!
Also - I feel like I am always saying this - YOU could make this veil. Seriously. I know it looks daunting, but it is actually a super simple design. If your wedding date is in November 2011, you have plenty of time to try it and start over or order something else if you hate it.
I bought my veil on ebay. Just search the characteristics that you are looking for and hopefully you'll find something that matches!
Here's a link that I searched for floor length veils:
So hopefully you can find something!
I got mine off of ebay as well and it turns out awsome....had no problem or anything. It came up to 35.00 with shipping...it was a simple cathedral veil whith some rhinestones scattered through out....you could add the petals yourself then?!!
i would def try etsy. i got my from bellabridalveils. it was sooo much cheaper than from a standard bridal store. I got my fingertip length simple veil for $29 and it was perfect!!
check out veilshop.com. That's probably where I will end up getting my cathedral veil from. I trust it because my wedding planner said she got her own cathedral from the site.
@HoffmanE - OMG! :D
If you decide that you do want to sell yours just let me know! What color is it?
wow 1500 for a veil?? i mean it is very beautiful but still thats just jawdropping amount of money for a veil that isnt even worn for the whole day. hope you are able to find something similar on etsy
There is the Uma replica on etsy...its only $175...

Sorry, there are no users yet.
I found and ordered my dress just last weekend. It is Manual Mota for Pronovias' Tirso.
I tried on a few veils at the salon. Didn't find anything that I liked. The problem is that I want a long veil. All the long veils I tried on very much took away from the detail on the dress just by covering and obscuring it.
After scouring the internet, I found it. The perfect veil: Uma by Melissa Sweet.
So whats the problem? I called a bridal salon in my hometown and it is $1500. That's more than my dress was! So I called a Priscilla of Boston Signature Salon and if I got it through them it would be $950. That is still about 750 more than I am willing to even consider spending on a veil.
Does anyone know where I can find a used one, or just a cheaper veil that is similar to the beautiful Uma. I have searched and searched with no luck. I thought some of you would know. :)
