I shopped at that store too!  Their veils were so pricey. πŸ™‚

I’m thinking, some kind of fingertip alencon veil?

I bought my veil at shopforbridaldirect.com.  They were super easy to order from –

something like this perhaps? http://www.shopforbridaldirect.com/proddetail.php?prod=EV-V452SF

Have you tried on a veil that is slightly shorter or longer than that one?  It’s a beuatiful veil, but I think a different length might make it just perfect.

@jenjen96:  I am! We had our wedding in the Pleasanton/Livermore area and now live in Redwood City!  πŸ™‚

I too had the gut instinct for you to go with a cathedral length veil for your dress. What’s your venue?

@jenjen96:  Girl, to talk them down to 40%? You are AMAZING!  πŸ™‚  What a deal.  And well, I only know it’s Bay Area Bridal because that’s where I got my dress.  See?

@jenjen96:  I could go either way for you, though I’m partial to the lace idea especially since you love it.  I love the idea of cathedral, and your venue is a beautiful winery!

@jenjen96:  Well, I ended up getting my dress for a little over $800 and it was originally $1030.  So, not too bad. We would’ve been offered a little more of a discount if I got my veil there, but I didn’t exactly try to hard to bargain with them!

In terms of alterations, I went to Thuy’s Pro Bridal Alterations in Milpitas and she did a FANTASTIC job!  For my dress, it came out to under $300 (I think it was $275) for the alterations and a bustle.  I also got my chi pao altered with her!  She’s really fantastic. http://www.yelp.com/biz/thuys-pro-bridal-alterations-milpitas

@jenjen96:  We are taiwanese actually, and my mom and I bought my chi pao in Taiwan while we were there on vacation – we went with a less traditional A line one from a designer in Taiwan.  Shockingly, it cost more than my wedding dress! πŸ˜›
