OK Bees – I need help, I thought I knew what I wanted for my hair and veil, and now i am not so sure.
I am wearing my mom’s veil – that is a given – I am having it remade so that the top is more modern (it is currently a lace cap – and looks very 80s)
When i tried my dress on they put a headband on me and I loved it.
I have been thinking i wanted my hair pulled back, but down and curly. I was going to wear teh headband and the veil at the same time, the veil being lower – on the back of my head where my hair was gathered back.
When talking to my Aunt who is redoing the veil, I started to wonder if the space between my headband and my veil would look weird. The veil is too long to keep on the whole night. I thought maybe i could attach the veil to a headband similar and just switch them…
Do I not do the veil low, only wear the headband when i take the veil off, rock them both.

I say rock both. I had this debate as well and ended up wearing my headpiece and veil together and it turned out looking great.

Attach them and rock both, but in a way that the veil is removable. This could mean just clipping the veil in right below the headband so that there is no gap, or connecting it to the headband in a way which is removable (don’t use velcro for the sake of your hair…but snaps work).
Depending on how far back or forward the headband sits, having a gap may also not look weird. Google or pinterest search “veil and headband” for some ideas on where to sit the headband and veil so it doesn’t look awk with a gap. Or consider using a really nice beaded or blingy clip instead of a headband, and clipping the veil in right below the headband. The veil is really easy to remove that way, and you still have the lovely detailing like you have on the headband.

BeeinBoston: ohh i like that. i think that could work for me too…depending how I do my hair. I was worried the space between would look odd, but that doesn’t at all
