Wow that veil is gorgeous! I think it looks fine where it is but If you think it looks awkward you may want to move it a bit more forward on your head. Maybe look at the veilKate moss wore for her wedding for inspiration?
P.s. Do you mind me asking what seller off of etsy you got it from?
I'm having a hard time figuring out what you mean by "bumps" (unless you've pinned them down for the photos?), but I do think the veil should be farther forward. I would try it right at the line of your bangs.
Oh, wait -- you mean the bumps on the veil, as opposed to your hair? Yeah, I think if you move the veil forward on your head, those will look right.
Thanks so much for the responses! I keep trying to move the veil further forward on my head (where I know it belongs in my gut) and I just feel like it looks.. matronly? I don't know what to do! Plus, I'm going to tell my hair stylist that I don't want that line of my bangs to be obvious, that was a mistake!
@MissSamurai: The seller of the veil is Sibo Designs. She shipped it from Amsterdam and was amazing about the whole process. I need to wear a blusher for the ceremony, and she even perfected the fit on it before sending it to me.
Sounds counterintuitive, but: Maybe try it even further down? My inclination would actually be for it to sit just about where your natural hairline is.
@occhiblu: I actually just tried the veil on again with my mom there and I think I know what changes I'm gonna make. I looked up the Kate Moss pictures and then I saw Lily Allen wore the same style veil - Juliet cap. I don't think mine is fully Juliet (or at least it looks a lot more Juliet when it's sitting further down on the head).
I think so I don't look matronly (since I'm only 21!) I'm going to go with a more youthful hairstyle. Both my dress and veil have a very vintage, old-world-type feel (read: lots of lace), so I'm going to part my hair in the middle and do curly waves. Perhaps pin back the bang pieces low to my ear to create a contrast with the veil. Either way, I noticed Kate Moss's hair was youthful against her vintage-style veil, and while she could've pulled off anything, it really is a great inspiration!
I was just going to say what you said: Lots of tendrils of your hair in front, and pull the veil as far front as you can. I LOVE your veil!
My grandmother had a full juliet cap that fit her head and nearly covered her forehead, but that was the style in 1925. Kate Moss has done the best job (as far as I'm concerned) of updating the look. I loooove that Etsy seller who sells this:

She is wearing it how it was meant to be worn. Have you tried it with makeup and styled hair? Give it a shot.
@lisalew5472: Wow that veil is unbelievable! Thanks for the responses! I haven't tried it with makeup yet but I'm absolutely in love with my makeup artist so I know the makeup is going to look fantastic. I have to go back to my hairstylist anyway with my sister in tow so she can do a mini run-through with her so I'm gonna bring back all my supplies and tell her about the updates.
I'm so glad ya'll told me about Kate Moss. It was amazing inspiration! I went from veil regret to veil love!
woohoo! this is the type of veil i wa going for and possibly making (i started but halted). I was going to wear my hair down, Rita Hayworth style but a little more relaxed. I see what you mean about the bumps but I don't think it looks bad or weird. In fact for mine I was going to put little flowers on the side so to give it a more vintage and fun look as well. But I get wanting to pin them down. I think you can't go wrong either way, it looks lovely as it is. Let me see if I can find some pics of mine but keep in mind that this is only pinned together and not finished at all! p.s. i might make it cathedral length-oh my!With some flowers too-just clipped on would likely go smaller! and would wear it farther back on the head like you.
ssorry for massive photos, hope this helps you a bit.
also, try a little color in your lipstick to avoid the matron vibe!

Hey guys! So I need some help decided how to wear my hair/style my veil.
I bought this veil off of Etsy and I really do like it a lot. It's got a very uniqye/vintagey look and it isn't typical - which is what I was going for. But now, I'm not sure how to really wear it so it doesn't look SUPER awkward on. The fitted top part is all lace, and in these pictures I'm wearing the veil a little further back on the head than I think it's supposed to be worn. I also bought white bobby pins for my hair stylist to pin those bumps on the side down so they don't stick out. When I hold the little bumps down on the side, the whole look just transforms into this beautiful vintage look.
These pictures were taken after the hairstyle itself had really fallen after being played with for an hour and a half, but it is the general idea. Any ideas? Should I style the hair itself differently? Definitely pin those bumps down? Wear a rhinestone clip (that came included) on one side of the veil over one of the bumps?
