I am getting married on a Sunday morning on a cliff over looking the ocean in this dress. I have my hair & make-up trial next week and I have to decide what to ask for. I have long (mid back, below shoulder blades) fine, thick hair. Issues floating in my head
I love waist-length veils and think they look “bridal.”
I love my hair down in curls because it shows off the health/length I work hard to maintain.
It will most likely be windy.
My hair is tough to get to hold a curl, because it is SO straight.
My face looks pretty with my hair up, but I never wear it that way because I can’t “do” my hair myself.
What would you suggest in this dress?

I would have your hair down with a veil. First of all, how often are you allowed to wear a veil? Second, if you usually wear your hair down and you have long beautiful hair show it off! You could always lift some up in the back so your hair isn’t to flat and has some volume but still length.

If I wear my hair down, it will have at least some pieces from the front clipped back (but not a full half-up/half-down) because I don’t want the shorter layers blowing in my lipstick. lol

I would go up with a flower or sparkley something. I am guessing that it will be windy up there and it would stink to have your hair be all wind blown the rest of the day, unless your hair dresser will be there to fix it.
The longer the veil, the more weight it has and it won’t blow as much, I loved wearing a veil, but I know not everybody cares so much.

I would go with hair up – that way it won’t blow around plus it is special. I chose a waist length veil but with fairly heavy beading around the edge which I figure will help make sure it doesn’t blow around too much as my ceremony is outdoors too.

Wearing your hair up might be more practical for the place you are getting married. But I am definitely wearing my hair down because that is how I always wear it and I want to be comfortable. So if you think you may feel uncomfortable wearing your hair up then I would wear it down. Either will be beautiful with your dress! And I would say do wear a veil! I like the length you suggested.

Hmmm, it seems I need to find good veil inspiration pics. All of my hair style pics are sans veil because I wanted to show the stylist the detail. Anyone have pics they love of hair WITH a veil?

my deciding factor was wind, thus hair up. and yes of course wear a veil. You’re a bride and if not now, when? Plus it adds to the whole package. A Fingertip veil im thinking.

Your dress is amazing. I just spent an embarrassing amount of time looking at pics of it, so….I’m sure you have seen these already but I will throw them up here to help others vote. I love the dress however you style it so I am no help!

@LittleRiver: Wow, I had seen the Bride cover, but neither of the other brides in this dress. Thanks! I do think I like the hair up better out of those pictures.

As we say in the biz, a bride without a veil is just another pretty girl in a white dress.
They effect is really beautiful, and you’ll rarely if NEVER have another opportunity to wear one. The gown is gorgeous, I say go full monty!
