Just wondering, how many of you have chosen to go for the traditional Veil? I am completely unsure, I am quite traditional, with a slight quirky edge. But I am wondering if it will be too much for a destination wedding?
What about you? Veil or no?

Veil. You really only have one opportunity to wear one and… in my opinion… they are super pretty!

I like the veil but think it depends on your dress and where you’re getting married. I always thought I’d have one but my ceromony’s outside on a dock and didn’t want it blowing in my face so opted to go without.
We live in the Caribbean and not sure where you’re destination wedding is but think that the location of the wedding vs the country will have a bigger factor to play!
You could do a birdcage or hair clip (that’s what I’m wearing!) too if you decide to go without. Either way am sure you’ll be beautiful!

Leaving out personal preference, it would depend on the dress.
I am going to wear a veil simply because I can. 😀

Personally, I believe it depends on a multitude of things and one of them being if you feel strongly about having one.
I’m going to have a birdcage veil since I’m no fan of the typical veil.
To each their own so if you fancy a veil look around and see what you find attractive, see if it goes with the feel of your dress and overall wedding and go from there.
Best of luck with your veil search!

I love the idea of a veil. It makes me feel like a bride! No matter the location you can wear a veil!

I figure, when else in my entire life will I be wearing a veil (unless it is Halloween)????

I’m going with a veil, but no blusher. It makes me feel like it’s suffocating me lol

I love veils, so I will always say yes! I wore a veil with a blusher… As soon as my dad gave me away, he flipped my blusher back, so I only had it in front of my face for a short time… After the ceremony and some pics, I took my veil out – I had also been wearing a white hair flower, I switched it to purple at that point! 🙂

Thanks for your opinions and responses ladies.
Well I am marrying in SriLanka near Galle. It is a tropical location, however the boutique hotel is built overlooking a tea plantation and jungle. It has a real garden/colonial vibe to it, with antiques from around the world and various exotic artefacts. A vibe of Sri Lanka and touch of quintessential English, perfect for me as I am half English, half Sri Lankan :).
Now, I went for a cheeky dress up day with my good friend who is also getting married, and we tried on some dresses….I wanted to go for a light weight beachy style dress, but they all look so boring and wish washy on me. When I tried on the fitted mermaid dresses with long trains, they looks STUNNING! The only veils they had were really longggggggggggggg and over the top, but I tried one on none the less 🙂
Erghhh, I have to be practical, as I will be flying with the dress and it will be very warm, but all the light weight floaty dresses look boring and they don’t make me feel like a bride…Vat to do :(.
I think I will go for either a flower in my hair or a simple/classic veil.
