I can't tell from your question whether you mean that some cathedral's require a blusher, or whether its necessary for a cathedral lenght veil. I can't say for the former...but I definitely don't think that a blusher is required for a cathedral length veil. I've had several friends wear one without, and I'm also thinking of having a very simple, sheer cathedral length veil (though I haven't decided for sure yet). But I'm definitely not wearing a blusher. I think the length makes them very elegant, and depending on the material and shape I don't at all think they need to be balanced with a blusher.
I guess I wasn't very clear. I could have posted this in the Catholic thread as well. I don't want a blusher, so do I HAVE to have one in a Catholic Cathedral?

I don't think that Catholic churches require brides to wear certain veils, or at least our church doesn't. I pretty sure you don't have to worry about it but just in case, check with your church. GL!
I'm pretty sure they don't require a blusher and I have a veil that I got at DB for $70 that is chapel length and has no blusher. I love it and it will make for great windy-veil pictures!
Yes, I certainly think you can find a cathedral length without the blusher. Just my 2 cents, but mantilla veils are gorgeous...and no blusher.
I had a mantilla- no blusher or anything over my face. You can do whatever you want!
On a whole, you aren't required, but its worht it to double check with your chruch.

Quick Question-
My mother wants to buy my veil for my upcoming birthday and I just don't know what kind I want. I know I want a chapel or cathedral length veil, however, I don't really want a blusher. Do I have to have that second layer covering my face for the Cathedral? What are you guys doing?
