@ALAin2014:  I’m not 30something yet, but I’ll be just-shy 30 at the time of my wedding. I am not a “princess” person, so I chose a birdcage veil.  I find them to be timeless and elegant without being too aggressively “wedding-y”

I agree with you completely. I’m in my 30s, and I dont’ want to wear anything that might work for a prom queen! So I’m wearing a mantilla veil at my October wedding. I think mantillas are so elegant, not trendy!

I’m wearing a haircomb.

I’m wearing a shoulder length bubble esque veil with scattered crystals and pearls. It’s nice and bridal but not crazy over the top. I have a small, beaded hair clip as well. 🙂

@ALAin2014:  I wore a hair comb and a veil. 34 when I married. I think you should just wear what you like and try not to focus on age too much. I wore what I loved! Happy wedding planning!

Im am late 30’s and wore a small tiara and a fingertip veil (my dress had a lot of sparkle so I didn’t want too much on my head).

My sister in her 40’s at a huge head piece and a cathedral length veil (her dress was half sparkle so she went overboard with the headpiece).  She also didn’t want a tiara since they hurt.

You should wear what makes you happy.  Don’t worry about your age, you are the bride and whatever you choose will be right.

@ALAin2014:  recently I got married,  am 27 years old. at first I was thinking of a comb with long veil and my hair down but a week before the wedding I changed my mind and got birdcage veil that has some bling on it. I am glad I got birdcage veil, It was different. I still dont have my pro pics so here are some from iphone.

I’m 32 and had a two-tier catherdal length veil.  It was simple, but elegant and flowy. Made for some great pictures!   I knew I always wanted a long veil, we decided on a two tier (top layer was slightly shorter) to provide more fullness and oomph.

Jeweled haircomb, I think.  I agree – I feel too old for a headband.  I’m 35.

Popping in here cause I saw the title…

Etiquette Snob here… lol

To be truly honest… this is one of those things where Etiquette has changed drastically.  One can now wear whatever one wishes (and more so for a first wedding) no matter what one’s age is.

So get out there and try on alternatives … it is the ONLY way to truly get a feel for what is available and what you might like / looks good on you.

Enjoy !!

PS… And for the record, I am over 50, Encore Bride.  I looked at a ton of stuff… lol, including fascinators, hats, veils, etc… before I chose a GORGEOUS hair clip with silk flowers and crystals.  It was perfect with my up-do and overall look for our Beach Wedding Elopement.  I got it at David’s Bridal

Hope this helps,
