I LOVE cathedral length veils.

That being said, I think it depends on the formality of your wedding. If you’re having an informal backyard shindig or a rustic barnyard wedding, I would choose a finger tip veil because I don’t think it looks as formal. If you’re having a formal affair, I would go cathedral all the way!

I love cathedral veils with every dress. They can be simple or fancy to match the dress. Mine was a custom cathedral length horse hair bubble veil with a finished edge. I chose the pictures that shows it the best. The material & ‘bubble’ title just gives it more of a stif & voluminous effect. Nobody did their job of fixing it though in a few of the pictures 🙁 way to go photographer!

Oh & it was a single layer.  In a few pictures it looks like It has more than one layer but I think that that’s where the ‘bubble’ effect comes in?!

Future_MrsE:  I LOVE cathedral length veils so I didn’t even consider other options! clearly I’m a little biased but that would be my vote 😉

Agree with PP that they do tend to lend themselves to a more formal wedding – ours is black tie and this is my dress 🙂 have you chosen your dress yet? Certain dress styles go better with certain veils, mine will be raw edge to go with the skirt of my dress, I wouldve LOVED a veil the had lace scalloping around the edge but it just wouldn’t have looked right!

I think it really depends on the dress.   My dress has a beautiful, detailed, long train that I didn’t want to cover, so I picked a fingertip.  You still have much of the elegance of a longer veil with the comfort of a shorter one, and you don’t have to cover up a loved train- that’s why they are a popular length and why even Princess Kate wore one.
