I am not a traditional girl…. I am having a DW in Thailand and had never really thought about a veil. But then I see stunning pics of brides on the beach with veils cascading in the wind behind them. I feel like I just want one for the photos and my dress already has the wow factor.
I want to hear from you – did you/did you not have a veil and were you happy with your decision? Did you regret not having one later on?
Here is my dress & inspiration pics too……… 🙂

i think you should totally get a veil like your inspirational pic. i like when the veil is under the hair instead of over. i think it looks more trendy and less traditional.

I wasn’t sure about wearing one but I ended up getting a $40 veil off etsy right before the wedding. I wore it for the ceremony and for photos and the first dance and then took it off. I’m happy that I had it. A couple of my favorite photos showcase the veil.

I never questioned wearing a veil and it actually happened to be my favorite part of my ensemble. I went for a statement veil that was 1920s inspired and that’s the great thing about veils – you can use one to accessorize and make a drastically different statement from someone else. I never thought I’d end up in a chapel length, especially since my dress had no train, but I’m so happy I went for that length. I got a lot of pictures like the one in your inspiration pic.
This is the front so you can see the 1920s headcap.

I had a 140″ veil and it made for some incredibly dramatic photos. I’m so glad I had it!

I LOVE when the veil is blowing by the wind, and when it covers the bride and groom. AMAZING PHOTO OP!!!
I’m wearing a fingertip veil.

@star_dust: I LOVE your veil. Where did you find it, may I ask?

@bigcitybee: Thank you 🙂 It’s from Etsy and the seller is Sibo Designs. The woman I bought it from, Sheila, is so sweet and very accommodating. I highly reccommend her Etsy shop.

I had a fingertip veil and I loved it. I’ve now lent it to my friend for her wedding. The only regret I had was that I took it off half-way through the reception… I’ll admit that when I’ve been home alone I’ve taken the tiara and veil out of the box and worn them whilst watching TV…

I didn’t have one, and I have no regrets whatsoever! They just never appealed to me. Instead, I had a fascinator. However, if you think you might want one, it wouldn’t hurt to look for a used one, or even go back to your dress shop and try the sample on with a veil to see if you like the look.

I had a veil and I loved it. Only took if off toward the end of the reception.
