Hey Ladies! So, now that I’m all set with my dress (after a dress regret drama)…I’m not sure that my original veil goes with this style of dress.
Here’s what I have right now:
My Priscilla of Boston
Sara Gabriel tulle birdcage edie veil:
I feel like the birdcage might be too…trendy? Small? I’m not sure. I’m totally in love with the Melissa Sweet Uma veil, but I think it’s too much texture with me skirt. I also love the look of bubble veils, or poufs….there are just so many options. Even maybe a plain cathedral length veil? What do you guys think? The veil really has me confused, and I would prefer something a little “unique”….

I really like the birdcage veil, it’s a bit of drama on the top because it’s not the “traditional” veil but it still allows the dress to shine. Me personally I wouldn’t do to much texture with that dress.. Let the dress be the statement piece and the veil be the accessory.

Okay I’m totally for the poof of the birdcage.. The others would be too much with the dress..

I agree with PP, I think the rest of the veils will take away from your dress. Your birdcage would be perfect and classy without being overbearing. I also like the Pouf too…

Simple veils will be ok, i also love Pouf.

First, I love your dress!
I think the birdcage will be too small and really doesn’t suit the style of your dress. I think the bubble will be too much (although I love bubble veils). I think the Uma will compete with your dress(although I love it too!).
I think the pouf (more contemporary) or a very sheer chapel/cathedral (more traditional) are your best bets. A cut edge on a long veil will “melt” into your dress and barely be visible.

The birdcage you’ve picked is perfect because it’s so simple. Your dress would look lovely with a plain cathedral length veil too, but since you’ve said you’d like something unique, my vote is for the birdcage.

Thanks everyone for the replies!!
@Georgie Bee: That’s exactly what I’m afraid of (the birdcage looking too small)!
I’m just so confused! I’m about to have my dress sent out for cleaning and restoration (it was purchased as a sample)….so I guess once it comes back, my best bet would be to try on my birdcage with the dress to see it all together. I’m really afraid it doesn’t make enough of a statement, even though I’m only wearing it for the ceremony.

I think anything you choose should be simple and not long, closer to the head the better. Like the poof, bubble or birdcage. I’m always a fan of birdcage veils but a poof or bubble would look great and also be unique since not everyone does them.

Thanks everyone for your advice! I talked to Fiance last night and he thinks the pouf is perfect with my dress. I plan on wearing my hair totally up (August humidity, anyone?), and that the pouf would kindof balance out such a dynamic skirt. I’m going to inquire about some off of preowned or recycledbride, because I LOVE the sara gaabriel one, but feel bad about buying another new veil!

I think the Birdcage is overdone. I like the bubble.

Update: Fiance is really in love with the pouf, so I made a mockup of one, just so I could get an idea….what do you guys think? It’s kinda hard to see because of the drro, and don’t mind my no makeup face!! I like the way the pouf balances all the puffiness of the dress at the bottom, and that it’s unique and fun.

Nice, I like the birdcage, but the pouf looks great too!
