Hey Bees –
Newly wed here, and thought to take the time to tell you my experience with vendors. We’re actually in Ventura County, married @ Boccaccios in Westlake Village, which was great! They handled our event perfectly, flawlessly and without drama.
We had a rabbi – Rabbi Brian Zachary Mayer, who doesn’t do a lot of weddings, but if he does yours it will be wonderful! He’s warm, funny, engaging, worked with husband & I on interfaith wedding ceremony, and helped the whole group calm the heck down day-of.
DOC – Cari Izaguirre!!!! She is the BEST! Exactly what we wanted in a DOC; organized, super energetic, positive, helpful, outgoing.
Photography – we had Stephanie Saul (& her husband) take pictures. Take a look at her website, it speaks for itself. She’s a wonderful photographer, and both she and her husband are just a joy to have around.
Hair/Makeup – DOC recommended Jana, in Simi Valley. She was great!!!! Again I think if you just check out her website that’ll tell you what you need to know. Love her!
DJ – Phil Birdsell. That man is too much! But in a good way; probably not what anyone into club scene would go for, but he was great for us middle-aged folks. And he’s such a happy guy, in addition to his experience and skill as MC/DJ.
Oh – and we got our cake from Skiff’s, in Simi Valley. Husband and I have had a few cakes from there, so we kinda knew what we were getting. But they did a wonderful job; our cake was exactly what we wanted, beautiful, tasty too.
There’s not one of these vendors I wouldn’t recommend wholeheartedly. Hope it helps out some of you… 🙂
