- Wedding: August 2009
My wedding was 8/8/09, so I wanted to leave some comments for those of you in search of some amazing vendors while everything is fresh in my mind.
DJ: Do yourself a favor and contact Tim Coy from Pacific Events Entertainment. I actually met him years ago when I planned corporate events, and quickly realized that he might just be the most reliable and professional DJ out there. He was always on time, prepared, and willing to roll with the punches. I referred him to my sister when she got married three years ago, and that sealed the deal! He was amazing. He is one of those DJ’s that does NOT need to make himself the star of the show. He just makes the event flow seamlessly. He would boogie up to my sister on the dance floor and casually ask her if she was ready to toss the bouquet, and then rely on what SHE wanted and needed to guide the timeline. There was no pressure and he was always ready to mix things up to make sure she was happy. I knew that I needed to book him whenever I got engaged, and he was the FIRST vendor we secured. My wedding was perfect. He had every song we asked for, and even gave us a nice gift…he burned all of our special wedding songs onto a disk for us to keep as a memento. I can NOT continue to express how good he is. He pays attention, he works with your other vendors, he is fun, he is professional, and he will make your wedding easy. Book him. He serves OC, Riverside, and San Diego Counties (my wedding was at a winery in Temecula). His email is [email protected], and his phone is (714) 899-2618.
Invitations: Call Lauren DeCaprio at Papercut Invites (www.papercutinvites.com). Amazing. Her work is GORGEOUS. She makes invitations out of her home, so you get a lot of personal service. She is so creative…take the time to check out some of the pictures on her website. She adds little adornments (tiny jewels, little starfish, bows, raffia, etc) by hand to make each invitation really special. She also did our save-the-dates, favors (printed wine glasses), menus, table cards, and card box, so she does a little bit of everything. She can work well on a budget (although you should do yourself a favor and check out what she can do with only a little bit more flexibility…we are glad we did…WOW!), and she is VERY good about deadlines, timelines, and getting back to you. Again, I cannot stress enough how amazing her work is. Check it out and contact her for suggestions and samples. If she does for you what she did for us, her creativity will help you design the entire look and color scheme of your event. I was a little clueless about design and colors and whatnot, so this really helped me.
I also have some great suggestions for hair/makeup, florals, and photo/video, so contact me if you would like any of these vendors!
My day was perfect, and I hope yours is too!
