Hi sparkle. I'm sorry to hear that you are in the same situation that me as well as many, many more are in. I'd feel bad if it was a true bankruptcy, but since it is beginning to look more and more like fraud it is making me madder and madder. I also booked Anna after finding her on a message board. If you'd like, please contact the writer of the Toronto Star article. Another board has posted that he will be publishing another story and is gathering info from anyone else that was impacted. Trying to get enough evidence for criminal charges to be laid. There is a lot more info out there about this person now that I wish was available to us when she inundated the message boards/craiglist/kijiji over the last 6 months or so. All the best for your wedding.
If you do a google search for "Affairs with Flair bankruptcy" you'll find more info.
I'm also contacting the police (another poster has given me a file number - there is already a file on this) and sending a report to the Canada Revenue Agency. As another poster mentioned to me, there was no GST number on my receipt which is required when GST is being charged. I don't think she was submitting taxes to CRA (or at least not the amount she should have been).
I was a bridesmaid in Toronto last summer and I ended up buying my dress from a store that screwed up my order twice and then closed before I got my dress. They ended up rushing me a dress that was 4 sizes too big (obviously it wasn't mine, but it was the right dress and right colour) and I had to pay an extra $150 for alterations. But since they're closed down, I don't need to warn you about them...
But... if you're still looking for dresses, Jealous Brides is a great location and really nice people. There's also one on Danforth that's good with a large selection of shoes and they dye them for really cheap. I can't remember the name though.
Hey Sparke, I'm really sorry to hear that you were one of the people affected by this awful vendor. My sister's friend was also affected. Anyways, please reach out to the Toronto Star (if you haven't already). This way you and the couples can band together. I hope you nevertheless had a wonderful wedding.

There was a story in the Toronto Star about a decorator that apparently filed for bankruptcy while soliciting new business and accepting payments from clients. I personally paid this company a deposit a few months ago and received a bankruptcy email this week. Their name is Affairs with Flair and the owners name is Anna Maria Parisotta (nee Francavilla).
