Has anyone else had a problem with potential vendors in Savannah who are terribly unresponsive? I am very busy and have to contact vendors as I have time. When I spend hours sending emails, filling out contact forms and making phone calls, it’s annoying and unprofessional to never receive a response, even to say the vendor is booked. Or, sometimes I get an initial response asking for more information, but once I send the information I never hear back again with a price.
I contacted one Savannah DJ (Coastal Entertainment) several months ago via email asking for pricing and availability. After a week or so of not hearing back, I thought their email might be broken so I sent a message on Facebook. I never received a response, so I obviously marked them off my list.
I’ve had this happen with so many vendors that it’s getting ridiculous. One salon (Ony Salon) emailed me back initially after I asked for pricing. They asked me a list of probably 10 questions so that they could provide pricing. I took at least 20 minutes answering the email and attaching photos of what I wanted. They never responded, and that was three weeks ago. I’m assuming that once they found out I wanted hair services for the bride only, and not an entire bridal party, they decided it wasn’t worth their time. And if that’s the case, I’d appreciate either an email stating that fact or that their website state they have a minimum number of people required to engage their services.
Has anyone else experienced this type of customer service nightmare in Savannah?

@suzyoungblood: Sorry to say, I don’t think that problem is exclusive to Savannah. It is amazing to me that these people are in business, but have such a problem responding promptly (or ever) to emails. If I don’t hear back within a reasonable period of time, they are crossed off the list immediately. I do not want to deal with kind of stress.

That’s unfortunate. You’d think people would learn a little about customer service! Oh well, the best vendors (who respond) will get our business! I’ve also learned to thank the vendors who are responsive and let them know it’s appreciated, as well as be responsive myself (let a vendor know when I’ve moved on, etc.).

@suzyoungblood: I’m not in your area but I have had this problem as well. I was surprised how difficult it was to get incontact with some vendors. There was one case where I emailed adn called got no response but saw the company constantly updating on FB! its crazy to me.

I don’t know about Savannah but I had plenty of people not respond.
I had people simply not respond at all for me asking for info and others (one florist and one caterer) who I actually met/spoke with on the phone to get a quote from and they never bothered to send me the quotes.
I just made sure I hired people that responsive. I didn’t bother with anyone who didn’t answer.

@suzyoungblood: I agree with @Jen041815:… unfortunately I don’t think it’s exclusive to Savannah 🙁 I got married in Pooler (just outside of Savannah) and used some Savannah vendors.. let me know if you need recommendations!
