    Ughhh I need to vent.

I went dress shopping for the first time in March of last year, and made my final decision and purchase in July of 2011. The dress was ordered the day I purchased it, and I was told it would be in before Christmas. It is now January 10th and I still don't have my dress. I know my wedding isn't until August, so it really shouldn't be a big deal, but I have a bad feeling. I've been talking to different people who have had bad experiences through this bridal shop and they've said the owner has a couple of lawsuits against her, for you guessed it... not having dresses in on time, or messing up orders and not refunding money. I didn't know this until recently. I've been trying to call the shop for the last two weeks now during their regular business hours and no one will answer the phone. The shop is a long drive for me so I guess I'm going to have to drive out to see what's going on.... but it just makes me so angry! Learn how to run a proper business people! Seriously!

You should file a complaint with the BBB. Hopefully that will get their attention. You may just have to drive there and speak with someone in person though. Do you have a written contract? You could file against them in small claims court. It's not that hard to do depending on where you live.

I'd probably drive out there before filing complaints with the BBB.  If you don't get a satisfactory answer, I'd file with your bank or credit card company to try and get your money back--many banks and credit cards offer fraud protection.  If you can provide proof that your transaction was fraudulent--meaning you paid for an item you did not receive--you may be able to get your money back.

Then I'd hit up preownedweddingdresses.com and oncewed to see if you can get the same dress for a lower cost so that you have something just in case.

thanks for the suggestions! Before doing anythign else,  I finally got a hold of her by messaging a business contact that knows her.. they texted her and she left a msg on my voicemail that it *should* be in next week. Fingers crossed!
