This might be a weird vent but I’m curious if anyone else thinks this was excessive.
A bride I know who recently got married has been excessivly announcing every detail of their wedding planning and posting constant updates of the countdown single about 258 days before the wedding until the day of. Literally announcing “249 days til I marry my best friend, can’t wait!” or “6 days, 9 hours, 20 minutes until I marry my best friend!” Here is a screen shot of one of her posts (I cut the names out):
She even went so far as to post pictures of her dress, links online for her bridesmaids to order their dresses and what color, flowers, cake, decor, and even a selfie of her and the groom in bed in their undies on the wedding night! They had said above it “first selfie as a MARRIED couple. Can’t wait to sleep and relax together for the first time as HUSBAND and WIFE! :D”
I get people are excited, I’m excited about my own wedding and want to shout it to the world, but I don’t because I want it to be a big surprise for everyone. I’m even being selective about telling family or bridal party details because of how exciting the surprise will be!
What’s your opinion on social media use? Do you do a lot of updates online about your wedding details or do you keep it mostly between those directly involved?
