- Wedding: July 2013
We got back two days ago from our awesome honeymoon in St. Lucia, and yesterday, my husband sat me down and said “I have some bad news. Your dad called me today. The videographer missed the ceremony.” Um WHAT? We asked a family friend who was already invited to the wedding, and who is trying to start a wedding videography business, for raw footage of the ceremony. The church had strict rules, so the video was only allowed to be taken from the balcony. Originally we were going to just set a couple cameras on tripods up there, but we figured he would have better equipment, so we hired him.
Our wedding started at 5pm. Apparently at 5:20 my brother got a text asking where the church was. I just don’t understand how this happens. He and his wife were invited to the wedding, so they had the invitation with the time and location information. AND he even asked me at the rehearsal dinner the night before what time the wedding started.
I’m so frustrated and sad. We had a great photographer, so I know we’ll have good docoumentation, but we won’t get little things, like the music, or my dad blubbering in giving me away, or our vows that we wrote ourselves, or the pronouncement, or anything. My sister has been contacting people to see if anyone took any kind of video of the ceremony, but hasn’t been getting many positive answers.
Everything about our day went so smoothly, and it was perfect, and now I just have this sour taste about not being able to see those little moments.
