I bought my wedding dress at David’s Bridal in Deptford, NJ, which went well enough.
I made an appt to meet with the same sales lady in Deptford, NJ (which was confirmed) to purchase my bridesmaids’ dresses. The store lost the appointment. I was a little annoyed since we wound up with a lady who seemed overwhelmed at the moment, but all’s well that ends well. We were just left more on our own, and we found a dress. We were told they had to be ordered within 3 days since I had a short engagement and my wedding was at this point in 10 weeks. Fair enough.
The next morning, I made sure everyone ordered their dresses, and I covered the dress of one of my bridesmaids personally since she did not have the money readily available. I ordered the dress from the Glen Burnie, MD store so since it is the closest store to that bridesmaid. Today, that bridesmaid called me saying that Deptford called to tell her her dress was not yet ordered. I called Glen Burnie who told me that, no, it was not ordered, which is odd since I ordered it from that store personally. I bottled my annoyance and asked them if I could order it immediately. She said to call back tomorrow since it may be too late to order it by my wedding date.
I called their corporate office and left a message, but I am livid. Has anyone else had similar experiences with David’s Bridal, or do they just hate me personally?

I have personal experience with the Glen Burnie, MD store. They can be a hot mess! They ordered the wrong size bolero for me, sold me the wrong bra for my dress and then placed it under my sister in law’s wedding date so I can’t return it! They always seemed so overwhelmed whenever I called or came in to pick up orders.
My suggestion would be to contact the Bowie, MD store. They have been awesome to work with, they seem to have it much more together. They are currently working on the alterations for my dress and have been a joy to work with. So responsive. Sales people aren’t running around like crazy. I wish I had gone to Bowie first!!!

Never been to the Glen Burnie store, but I can definitely second going to Bowie- they are super prompt on getting orders in. I hope it works!

All of David’s Bridal bridesmaids stuff is such crap – I’m still pissed that I spent $170 on an ugly, poorly contructed dress for a friend’s wedding. If I can’t resell it afterwards to make some money back I’m going to be really upset!

I called Bowie. They rushed the dress at no extra cost. I feel better. It’s funny how weddings can make you freak out over small matters.

@saramabob: Awww, that was really nice of them. Sounds like they overbooked the lady you ended up with, and that they have no idea how to organize anything.

I hate David’s Bridal and would really never use them for anything wedding related but that Glen Burnie store is an exceptionally hot mess. Try Bowie.
