Is this a destination wedding? Are the majoriy of your guests from out of town attending the wedding?
Personally, I would keep your guest list to those who are your closest friends and family. Limit the invitations to co-workers & your parent's friends until you know who is attending from your inner most circle first.
That is what I suggest. I can understand if you want to be inclusive and invite everyone you have ever known. But if your venue can't accomodate for everyone you know you will be inviting- and who you know will be attending... then you have to choose another venue if you are unwilling to limit your guest list.
You can expect to have about 85% of folks attend your wedding if it is NOT a destination wedding..obviously that number goes down depending on how far away the venue is. How far apart on you on your invite count versus budget?
This is not a destination wedding. The ceremony would be in 1 of 2 places, my FI's church which is a 45 minute drive or right at the reception site. The venue definately holds enough people for our current guest list but it would be cutting it super close.
Well it's official we confirmed our date at this venue today! Sooo excited!!!

Hello Hive!
Here's my issue. My FI and I have two dates held at a venue that we both LOVE! It's awesome, the staff is very friendly, the food is awesome, inside and out is gorgeous, but we're worried that if everyone we invite comes, we might come up a bit short for the budget. They gave us a really great price, which includes the cake and centerpieces on the tables. I've tried cutting my guest list back, but it's sitting right on the cusp of an overflow. Any ideas of what we should do? We have until June 12 to give them notice to draw a contract or release the dates.
Oh and here's the venue website in case anyone wants to take a look!
