Our guest list is roughly 120. We are looking at several different venues with larger capacity. Generally, between 200 and 250 people. Will there be too much additional room? Has anyone been in a similar situation? Or, do you have any ideas on how to make the space more intimate?

I’m having 115 and our venue is capable of holding 250 and honestly I’m looking forward to having all the extra room, the opposite is much worse! I was lucky enough to be able to see our venue when it was set up for a similarly sized event, ask your venue if you could do the same!

Having more space than you need is definitely much better than a space that is too small! Nothing is worse than feeling hot and claustrophobic at a wedding.

If you arrange the room accordingly, it will work just fine. Our room holds up to 300, but we expect 120-150 people. It just requires a slightly more creative floor plan to make sure the room still feels inviting.
