Which venue would you chose:
Choice One: Church Cermony, reception in a different location, a few hours later. Cocktail hour in reception location. Two venues are under 5 minutes apart. Reception location will have close hotels, including three within walking distance for drinking guests.
Choice Two: All things in one location, a Country Club, located aboud ten minutes outside of city, with no close hotels. Would probably end up doing shuttle service as most guests would be from out of town. Guests would go from inside for ceremony, to outside for cocktail hour, back to inside for reception, but aside from getting to and from location, would be in one spot.
Some other notes:
Most guests are coming from out of town, will need hotel/shuttle/rental car.
Most guest do not know the city
Venues are about the same cost.
In house catering at both places.
More freedom with drinks and favors at Choice 2 (being able to bring in our own alcohol, and snacks for favors)
(this is mostly hypothetical, just looking at potencial venues in our area and this seems to be a choice we’l have to make when we get to picking venues. We have different opinions on what would work better for our guests, but I’d like to hear the Hive’s opinion.)
