@Ms.BlueEyes: Congrats! I didn't have my wedding there but we considered it. Here is the information that I found: The rental is $3000 for 8 hours. There is a 104 guest maximum. Which is why we ruled it out, it's too small for us.
@NJmeetsBX: The website says its $900. Am i looking at the wrong price list?
Hmmm. I don't see a price list on the website. I got the prices after emailing them for more information. If you want you can private message me your email address and I can forward you what I received for them.
How big is your wedding? If it's not too big, you can use a restaurant and they don't charge a rental fee.
@mmsva: the party is about 70-80 guest but we didn't want a restaurant. We can spend a little more, just prefer something less than 3K so we can spend on more on the photographer and the food.
I did a fair amount of research for venues. What type of venue are you looking for? Do you want to stay in DC proper? Want to bring your own caterer or looking for all-inclusive?
Just did a quick look at the venue spreadsheet I have. In DC proper, you can try Capital Hill Club, it has no rental fees but a $10K food and beverage minimum on Saturdays. On Fridays, the minimum is between $6-8K. St Francis Hall can be rented for $2K on a Friday in March, you can bring in your own caterer. Lastly, McClean Gardens Ballroom has a $4500 rental fee BUT they occasionally have specials where they waive the fee if you book by a certain date. I would think you could negotiate it down based on this. I would try! They have in-house caterers. I went to a tasting and the food was yummy. Good luck!
Oh, one last possibility is Zola. It's a restaurant but with a group your size you can probably do the ceremony and dinner and dancing there. I believe the March minimum is $12K for dinner. I am sure brunch or lunch would be cheaper.
@Ms.BlueEyes: I only asked because we had our wedding at 2941 Restaurant in Falls Church. I has beautiful koi ponds, waterfalls and amazing food. They also have some nice artwork. The satue in the the background is a limit edition Dali. Our only fee was for the outdoor patio which I think was $200.
@mmsva: I loved 2941! But FI ruled it out because it was too far from DC. I'm sure your wedding was lovely.
@NJmeetsBX: That is a down side to 2941.
If you want to be near DC, maybe try Sheraton National Hotel in Arlington. I went to a wedding there in the late 90's. the view was spectacular!
@Ms.BlueEyes: Thanks, you would never know it was in an office park!
You can also try Elizabeth's on L. I didn't request info from them because I knew they were to small for us but it may work for you.
@NJmeetsBX: could you email your excel sheet, that would be a great help. FH is now getting involved and budget may be changing. email msblueeyesdc at gmail.com thanks!

Recently engaged and starting to plan eventhough its a year away. We don't want to spend too much on a venue and heard the prices for the City View Room are under $1000.

Has anyone used this place as your wedding venue? Post your reception pictures to get an idea of what you can do with the place and if let me know how your experience went. Did your guest have issues parking in that area.
Thanks Bees for your help. I'm new to all of this.
