We are getting married in Toronto at an old heritage church, except not in the church.  They built a small venue on the property as well and we are doing it there.

Our total cost is 11,500.  The only extra we pay for are decorations, booze, band, officiant, and liquor liscence.

The price also includes a coordinator.

Our venue is one of the most demanded in the city.

*edit* we also get the venue from 12 noon the day ofrand can leave our stuff till 12 the next day.

We will be getting married in a very upscale, old hotel in the Northeast (USA).  There’s not a typical flat fee to use the venue space.  It’s a $50k minimum (includes food and booze) and $300/head over that.  It also includes the cake and white glove service.

Our venue charged a $1,500 venue-rental fee for our four-hour, Friday-night reception.  (It would have been more for a Saturday night.) There also was an additional $1,000 charge for our ceremony and ceremony set up.  Of course, that $2,500 was in addition to all of our food, beverage, and labor costs, and service fees.

@mspartridge:  I was thinking the same thing! I thought $1,200 was a lot for some I was looking at, but some of these prices are making my eyes bug out!

We’re paying $5500 for our venue in St. Louis.  It’s for tables, chairs, and linens, set-up and take down for the ceremony and reception, DJ, and for four hours of bar service (beer and wine). We get the space for about five hours total.

We paid $0 dollars.  The venue was free because it was family property. 🙂  However, we did have to pay for rentals because it wasn’t an actual venue, so we probably paid around $2000-$2400 for all the rentals and travel fees for us to rent a trailer and whatnot.

We also paid $250 for our backup venue (an old church hall) but since we didn’t use it the hall very generously refunded our money… Next time we go through there we’re donating it back to the church. 🙂

@mspartridge:  One of my close friends was married about a year and a half before me, and the fee just to rent her venue (it was a beautiful venue, I must say!) was $4,000!

$1200 for full day uses of the mayan courtyard and $400 for 4 hours at their Main Garden. It’s a little more then what I wanted to spend but its a truely unique venue. But after reading some of these other numbers I may have gotten off easy.

We’re paying $450 to have it Friday afternoon and evening for decorating and rehearsing and then $1850 for Saturday 11 am – 1030 pm.  It was by far the best deal we looked at and we LOVE it!

We’re getting married at a gold course just outside of NYC; no minimum or venue cost we’re expecting about $1,800 for the reception at this point.

Our total was $656.25.  And that’s for a gazebo on a lake..and nice building within walking distance from the gazebo.
