So I found and booked an amazing venue, it looks amazing. well the event coordinator quit and i only found out because of the dj’s who knew about it. the owner is now the event coordinator too and they are trying to get another one. communication has been horrible, but i was willing to let that go. now he just told me he wants me to sign a new contract with security deposits and “things like that”. i haven’t seen the contract yet but i’m freaking out. i’m starting to think i need to refuse to sign the new contract and get my deposit back (he said if we didnt sign it he would refund us and open our date back up). i’ve been looking at other venues and i hired a wedding planner but i’m still stressed about all of this. luckily its 11 months away but we have already booked officiant and photographer so we cant really change the date. ugh SO is ready to elope (unfortunately i have already bought a dress and booked vendors).

If you really love the venue I’d take a moment to process all this, calm down, then go and talk to the owner. Don’t dismiss this new contract etc until you read it. Talk to them, ask them every question and voice every concern you have about the changes. If after that you still don’t feel comfortable signing a new contact then I’d walk away and try and find someplace else.
Our event coordinator left after three months of us working with her. They had an intern working in her place for a month and now they’ve hired someone new. That someone new is fantastic! Our DJ knew her and that she’d been looking to relocate to our area from nearby. He said she is one of the best he’s worked with – I was sooo relieved! I had initially cried when I found out our first coordinator was leaving. Part of the reason I went with our venue was because of her amazing reviews and how awesome she was to work with but after I calmed down and processed everything it all worked out.
Good luck and I hope it all works out!
