I went to the website to check it out. It looks gorgeous! It says they can accomodate 120 upstairs. If you are inviting 100-120 people, I wouldn't worry, because you will likely get some people who have to decline your invitation. I think I would go with it!
Thanks so much! I think we will, another thing I was worrying about is that the space is above the actual restaurant so I don't know if they would have a problem with the DJ announcing everyone as they come in. They did tell me that we would have to play softer music until the restaurant closes at 9 (so it will only be for about an hour) which in that time we will be busy taking pictures in stuff so I dont think that would be a problem...but I guess that's something I will have to ask...
But thanks so much for your opinion!!
They know what they can/can't accomodate, so I'd trust the venue. If it's your dream venue, I am sure you can make it work!
You may want to find out what other "rules" there are...just so there are no surprises later.
Yes that is true...I still have a lot of time to think about it (until december) but i can't help but just want to get all my decisions over with. I love it though. Its absolutly gorgeous. I spoke with my photographer they won't have any problems taking pictures and they think its beautiful and so does my parents. (but I think they (my parents) are just going along with anything that I want... ugh...but
thanks for your input!!
You should be fine.
I understand your concern that the weddings you've been to had bigger venues, but, as you said, they had more people. Your venue should be appropriately sized for YOUR guest list. If the venue is too big for your party, then it will look empty and detract from your atmosphere. Had you viewed larger venues, the venue organizer would no doubt have warned you that their facility was not designed for smaller parties, and could look ridiculous.
that is so true! it also has a balcony with a beautiful view of the church we are going to get married in. It really is perfect. And I totally don't want to have too much space where it seems as though its way to big...
Well I think I have found my venue!!
Thanks so much everyone!!

Hi Everyone! I live in Schriever, La but am having my ceremony / reception in Thibodaux. My fiance and I are having a vintage themed wedding and I found this place in thibodaux that I absolutly love. It goes with our theme perfectly BUT the only thing I am worried about is the space...All the wedding I have been to have had their receptions in a much bigger area so I am used to all of that space. Though they were having more much people attend their reception then my fiance and I are. We are having around 100-120ppl. I have been told that this area can accomdate that many ppl plus a few but I'm still worried about the space. But I am totally in love with the place because it goes perfectly with our theme!
SoOo do I go with my dream venue and sacrafice a little space or do I look for a different venue??
By the way....It's Fremin's Restaurant in downtown Thibodaux..
Please Give me and comments or opinions! I am desperate need of anyone's help..
