Weddingbee boards

This post is abit long, but I had to share!

So today with my mum I went and met with our venue coordinator, she is super lovely. She had drafted a timeline as an example and we worked out tables and where we would put things, blah blah.

And then it came down to the numbers we had recieved a rough example of timeline and an estimate cost.
FH and I only budgeted 4500 for the reception including drinks. The total came over our budget dollars without including drinks tab and the lady was being totally reasonable. But i am thinking in my head, we just cant afford this... we cant afford this..
I zoned out for the rest of the meeting. I cannot remember what happened in our next discussion, or any detail after that.
I just kept on looking at the numbers.

My mum and I went out for coffee after and she was like, what do you think? Im like.. its just too expensive. We cant do this....

And mum said well actually you can because your dad and i are going to pay for the reception, all you need to do is pay for the drinks..

OH MY FREEKING GOODNESS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have never once thought or expected my mum and dad to contribute and they have never offered until now. FH and I budgeted all along that we would be paying for the whole wedding, which has always been fine but things have been really tight with money and we watch each penny, and think spending on our day is worthwhile.

This is the biggest sense of relief I have ever had since I have started planning and a weight has been taken off my shoulders. There has been so much stress over the financial side of things, that I aimed to do majority of DIY and we had skipped alot of things. i.e nice cars for transport and since mum and dad offered to pay, we can afford now to have those things we cut out.

I am still sure we will keep in our original budget but have alot more money to go on our honeymoon, which we were planning to go in december because we would have enough money saved up after the wedding to go on a decent honeymoon. NOW we can go straight after.

I am really excited, relieved and cannot stop thanking my parents enough for their genoristy.

I just needed to share the news because seriously the stress has just gone... and im just noticing the differance in the last 5hrs.

Miss Ab- it such a relief! We just always thought with the economy the way it is, and my parents nearing retirement that we just cant even dare to ask them to contribute, so it is a complete and utter suprise, just when things were getting tighter and tighter with money as the wedding date comes closer.

 I am just counting my lucky stars and thanking god, because stuff like this just does not happen every day!
