@stacyreeves: OPTIONS! If I wind up not being able to marry at FI's church, I need a place to hold a ceremony. I'd prefer a church, I'd probably have the White Robed Monks of St. Benedict officiate. Reception is at Brady's Landing in SE Houston but I'm willing to travel a little... Brady's has a great outdoor ceremony space, but what if it rains?!? No, sorry, May is too rainy a month to take that chance...
Hmm, well if I were you I'd start calling churches around your reception venue and asking them what their requirements are for non-members. I could give you some pretty venues but it might be weird to have your ceremony in one wedding venue and then have your guests travel to another wedding venue. You could also call around and see if any companies in HOU offer tent rain insurance.
I pulled this up on the web. It may help you, I hope. I don't have any knowledge of these. http://www.weddingmapper.com/wedding_vendors/tx/houston/ceremony_venues/5

I hope this is helpful. It's only 20 mins away from BL and simply gorgeous. I love the Landing! I'm going there to re-look them for our July wedding reception!
How many people are coming to your wedding? George Ranch has a little chapel and so does the Heritage Society. Actually there are a ton of them around...but space is limited, of course.

Does anybody have any suggestions for a CEREMONY venue in Houston? I already have the reception venue. Thanks everyone!
