My sister got married at Coindre Hall on Long Island. It’s an absolutely beautiful venue, with great food, and decent prices. I recommend you check it out.

We’re getting married at Tuthill House in Gardiner, NY, site where Tuthilltown Spirits are distilled. For a Saturday wedding in June, it’s $125/pp. I know it’s above your budget, but just putting it out there in case you were interested.

ankhara :  It was really cute! They got married at the foot of the vineyard in August. The weather just happened to be perfect that day. After the ceremony, we went up into the tasting room/reception room- it was an informal set up meaning there were tables inside and out (seating for 4-6 at each table) and you just went up and got whatever food you wanted, sat wherever, ate, chilled- then just danced/talked/mingled/sat down…whatever! There is a laaaarge firepit outside and when the sun went down they had a MASSIVE….i mean MASSIVE fire pit, like ledgendary – so a lot of people were outside having a good ol time. It was honestly such a great wedding because it was perfect for them, not stuffy at all. If you ever want more info or contact details I can ask her and PM you details.

rachycakes :  Also, maybe look into Perona Farms, in Andover NJ. it’s north NJ. Basically a barn setting. Or, Crossed Keys Inn; Holly Hedge Estate (i got married at Holly hedge, but it’s in Bucks County PA, so right over the nj boarder, may be worth you taking a look at…it’s rustic as a mother f-er 🙂   —- I have also heard good things about Jack’s Barn in Oxford, NJ but cannot speak to it myself as i never ended up going there to look in person. Good luck!

rachycakes :  I wanted to do mine at Robibero as it is one of our favorite wineries, but I found them extremely unresponsive. In addition, you have to bring everything in and may push your budget. Fingers crossed that it works for you, if you like it. It’s really a beautiful site.

I totally get ya-ballrooms are not our thing either. Here’s some venues I came across in my search…

on Eastern LI

Hallockville-It’s a museum and they just started last year I believe doing weddings!

Peconic River-low key area

Upstate NY

Taconic Outdoor Educational center- I LOVED this place when I found it. They even have ‘rustic’ accommodations for you and your guests. It was a little too far for us but might be exactly what you described?

I got married at Jack’s Barn and all of our guests stayed at the Inn at Millrace Pond — they could not stop talking about how much they loved the place and the breakfast in the morning!
