We had our reception at Trevisio Restaurant in the Medical Center. The view is beautiful and the food is AMAZING. They aren't usually super busy on weekends so they probably have an upcoming date available (after holiday party time). We used the main dining room because we wanted access to their normal restaurant bar area and had just over 100 guests. I think the minimum for a Saturday night was $5000 but the minimum for one of the smaller rooms may be less. They were so, so helpful with everything. Good luck to you!
Just stumbled upon your post and I along with my wifey find ourselves having issues with finding a houston venue as well. Wondering where you held your wedding?
We are looking into the Gardens of Bammel Lane but am worried about parking and a little too over our budget.

Hello Everyone,
I am having a desperate time trying to find a venue. We have several factors weighing against us and I am being to lose hope.
Problem #1, my Dad was diagnosed with Stage IV cancer SOOO we moved the wedding up from late October to March to ensure that he was able to attend the wedding. With his health, we have to try to stay indoors and ensure that he will be able to access the location. We looked at the firehouse in the heights but the room is on the second floor, so that knocks it out.
Problem #2, since we moved the wedding up our budget has decreased significantly. We are now looking at $2,500 for ceremony and reception. We are only having 50 people and do not need liquor. My dress, veil, and other good stuff is bought so those items are NOT factored in to the $2,500. I also have about $400 aside for some DIY favors, flowers, etc. We have another $1,000 ish allocated for photography. We have found that NOTHING in Houston is in our price range. Maybe I am just not looking at the right things but it is making me crazy.
Problem #3, two brides. I found two historic locations I loved in Galveston, but the representative said she could not rent them out to LGBT. It broke her heart but they Archdioceses wouldn't allow it. It is the churches right to deny but it still broke my heart. The other affordable location in Galveston gave us a decent reception location but did not really help with the ceremony.
If anyone has any suggestions at all, I would really appreciate it.
Thanks, Kate
