Thanks guys! I was so pissed because she texted me right when we were hanging out with my FI family and grandma, who is in town for the weekend. My mood went from happy to pissed in 0.6 seconds. hehe I was fuming.

Let us know if you need help finding a new photog who is used to traveling and knows how to insure their equipment instead of flaking on their contracts!
:-( I am sure it will all work out! I don;t understand why some vendors think the contracts don't mean anything? Urgh.
The photographer thing is pretty lame. She could have at least called to explain it. Not that it makes the situation any better as she surely knew the destination when she signed the contract with you.
Does the contract leave you with any recourse or just give you your deposit back?
I wouldn't feel safe in Mexico with expensive equipment either. I wouldn't feel safe in Mexico period. At least she informed you a year in advance.
Aww, that stinks! Can't believe your photog would change her mind like that!! It's not like she didn't already know it was in Mexico! At least you have a lot of time to find a new one. Good luck!

She is giving the deposit back and everything, so that will just make the contract null and void. There are a couple of really good photographers in that area, so I am kinda excited to start researching again lol

And I am in slight freak out mode.
So I got a text from my ex photographer last night saying she didnt want to take her expensive equiptment to mexico. She thought it was too big of a risk. Fine, whatever, but at least have the decency (and balls) to call me and let me know. Dont text me like a child. Of course I am bummed, but we can find someone better and more professional than her. Blah!
Then, I got an email this morning that our venue is changing owners and they dont know what kind of changes will be made. Um, scary. Since we already have a contract with them and all. We are visiting again this summer and we wont be paying them another cent until we talk to the new owners.
Oh, the joy of wedding planning lol. Thanks bees, I feel a lil better.
