okay so i thought we finally found the ‘perfect’ location. turns out that with all the add-ons, & the fact we wouldn’t be able to go inside the main building to cool off (seaside wedding at a private country club), the price is ridiculous.
now we’re looking at our 2nd favorite venue which is in boston.
so my question is, how many places did you look at?
how many times did you change your mind?

We looked at 5 or 6 different places but the choice was actually pretty easy for us because one venue was similar with extras for this adn that and this too and becoming beyond budget.

- Wedding: August 2009 - St. Thomas of Villanova Church & the F.U.E.L. House
Too many! Our location — the F.U.E.L. House — was the first we saw, but we kept looking for what felt like forever (seriously, about 20 spots) before realizing it was, in fact, perfect. Learn from our mistake and just don’t do that to yourself!

haha, too late. the place we’re looking at again was the 1st place we looked at, lol. we’ve looked at ~20 places ourselves.

we looked at way too many places to count! once we finally found it (after a few small breakdowns) it stuck. but seriously, it took a really long time to get to that point.

I had one church in mind that I wanted, but they only allow members to use their facilities and ended up going with my parents’ church. I basically only looked at one reception venue (I briefly considered the reception venue’s sister location, but that was more of a formality since I couldn’t get my venue for the date I originally wanted).

We looked at about 10 places…called about 10 more.

My FSIL looked at 30 places. Yes 30! I researched around 20 and looked at 5.

- Wedding: June 2010 - Ceremony - First United Methodist Church; Reception - My parents' house!
I’ve always wanted to get married and have the reception at my parents’ house, so that’s what we’re doing. 🙂 We never even looked anywhere else. I blame Father of the Bride. lol

i looked at 4, narrowed it down to 2 for FI to look at as well. I had more time than he. but called prob about 15 altogether, and served websites of many many more!

We saw about 5 or 6 places ..maybe a little more , we couldn’t keep track ..lol..I’ve always been told when it comes to wedding planning , that the more places you look for venues to photographers..the better..that way you don’t feel like ur missing out on anything ..Personally i liked the experience 🙂

wow, such a variety. my parents looked at the venue FI & I liked but after crunching numbers it was soooooooooooooo not worth what they gave you, it was absolutely ridiculous!!
Now we’re going back to the very 1st place we loved which is in Boston, lol. We might have the ceremony in the Marriott’s Palm Garden but I’d rather have an outdoor ceremony close to the hotel however we can’t seem to find a place.
We definitely know where the reception would be, it’s perfect, especially for an August wedding.
Anyway, thanks again for all the answers. 🙂
