Ugh. So I realize that I’m planning this thing on kinda short notice (5 months….FI wanted it in 3 months…told him that wasn’t happening). I’m 99.9% sure that I’ve found the venue that I’ll be going with (not the dead animal zoo). All the reviews are great. It’s a beautiful place. It’s a lodge with a fantastic outdoor space complete with massive stone fireplaces. I may or may not have snuck out there last weekend to look at the outdoor space, but I still want to see the indoor space as well.
The problem is that the owners, who live 5 states away and are pretty good about returning emails within 24 hours, refer me to the manager for a tour. The manager is a different story. I’ve been expecting a call from her for a week now. I’ve left two messages with her and just tried to call again about half an hour ago. This time I actually got something other than voicemail. I think she tried to silence her phone, but actually answered it instead. I could hear her having a conversation with someone else in the background! I hung up and a few minutes later, she called me back. Well, I should say she butt-dialed me! I could still her having a conversation with someone else. No calls since then. I don’t know if the manager is local or not. The phone number I was given for her was out of state (same area as the owners). I’ve sent the owners an email saying that I’m having trouble reaching the manager and I’m concerned since I need to book other vendors. I’m hoping that they will, in turn, light a fire under the manager’s ass and get me a return phone call. Grrrrrrrrrrr
