I need your opinion fellow bees!
So fiance and I found a reasonable venue nearby that our guests can stay at overnight but the catch is… it’s almost an hour away from the airport! With so many people coming in at once, we won’t have enough vehicles to carpool people, and car rental rates are insane! Meaning someone else would have to fork out some cash to get a rental. So.. using my brains I decided to look into hotels closer to the airport. Found some amazing venues that are less than 20 minutes away from the airport, for a bit more.
So my question is, should we make our guests spend more on travel and go for such a long way and save money for ourselves, or spend a little more money, and make our guests trip more enjoyable?
The reason I’m asking you all is because I’m getting conflicting responses from my family. I’m all in for spending a tiny bit more and having people be happy but my grandmother told me bluntly that people can find their own way there, while fiance doesn’t care either way as long as we stay in budget.

I think it really depends on which venues you genuinely prefer. Given how far away your wedding is, you don’t even know for sure how many people will be flying in, or what car rental prices will be at that time. I think check out the venues nearer to the airport, but if you still prefer your original one, stick with it. People will find a way to your wedding if they want to be there.
Another thing you could possibly look at is hiring a bus – that might get 50 or so guests to and from the airport? But given that you don’t know how many will be flying in, and how often they will be arriving (e.g. some people might come a few days early, some might arrive the morning of the wedding), I don’t think you’ve got enough reason to change your venue unless you actually want to.

What is the cost difference from the venue you love to the venue closer to the airport: use that difference to rent transportation for guests.
It’s your wedding. And while you want guests to be comfortable you should not have to sacrifice your venue just to stick closer to the airport (and I am sure your guests will agree).
