Good Morning Ladies,
This is both ceremony and reception so I thought it might be better suited for the beehive.
We have appointments set up to visit our top 3 venue choices in 2 weekends (Yay!). I already have a bunch of generic and venue specific questions to ask the event coordinator. But was wondering if you any of you ladies have tips on questions you think I should ask?
Specifically this will be a outdoor wedding with the ceremony & reception at the same location. With a indoor cocktail hour inbetween. So if you have any pearls of wisdom to share in regards to the outdoor wedding it will be greatly appreciated!
Some of my questions include bad weather backup (cross your fingers!), whether time alloted includes set up and break down time, will s/he (the event coordinator) be there the day of, person minimum, etc.
1 of the venue has a onsite restaurant, another has a exclusive caterer they work with (whom we’ll also be visiting for a sample tasting that weekend) so any questions regarding that are also welcomed!
Thanks ever so much!

You probably already know this, but I would ask what’s included and not included. It surprised me when some venues (solely wedding/event venues) said we would have to rent their chairs or linens.
You also might want to ask what the sound system is like- if its outdoors do they have microphones and speakers already set up, or do you need your entertainment to bring it in (which could cost extra $$$).
Have fun!!! 🙂

I have negotiating built into me by my mom. Hehe. But I’m not going to hardcore negotiate until we know which one we like the best.
All three are vineyards which poses a unique situation because first and foremost they are a operating winery first. And as far as I know they will all require us bringing in tables, chairs, linens, tents etc. But that will be brought in most likely through the caterers.
Oh, good reminder about the sound system. I forgot to add that to my list! We’ll be bringing in a DJ regardless.

Be sure to ask questions like whether the venues allow open flame candles, water and flowers at their sites. These may be stupid questions but there are some places that do not allow candles or water (for centerpieces or decor) or even flowers. You don’t want to be surprised.

Hm. Good point. I’ll definitely add "restrictions" to my list. I’ve seen pictures of weddings at all the venues so I’m pretty sure flowers (like petals on aisle, etc) are ok.
