@april29bride: Hmm...yeah that's a really really tough one. I have no idea what it costs to rent, but what about Villa Montalvo in Los Alto/Los Gatos? They have a crazy long wait time too I think...
There's a really beautiful garden in I believe Palo Alto called the Elizabeth Gamble Garden. It is really nice but just didn't fit into our wedding needs. I know it's hard findnig a nice cheap place around here.
Check the Freedom Hall and Gardens. I shoot a wedding there 2 months ago and found it absolutely amazing. More modern then Royal, but worth a look. They also offer full package deals DJ included.. http://www.freedomhall.com/

Royal like? This isnt quite in the area you mentioned..but close I suppose and it kinda fits your look your are going for from what I gather. Check out the Hillsborough Racket Club? It Byo caterer and Beverages so that can save some money. And I would reccomend Freedom Hall and Gardens if you are on a budget, the outside does not look royal its more garden but you get so much bang for your buck. Hope my ideas helps some :)

We are looking to find an inexpensive and picturistic venue between San Jose and Palo Alto. We visited few mansions (absolutely loved the columns and royal appeal, but not the price). Any ideas of a gorgeous Royal-like architecture that doesn't cost 10K to rent?
