You might want to check out some of the wineries in the Santa Ynez Valley (about 30 miles north of Santa Barbara). You might be able to find a winery that has a rustic feel to it.
I went to my friends wedding at Rancho Dos Pueblos... it's a rustic barn and was amazing...
Ojai Valley Inn & Spa has a barn. Camarillo Ranch also added/restored a barn last year. There are lots of other beautiful outdoor venues but these are the ones that come to mind that have barns.

I was also going to suggest the Inn and Camarillo Ranch house. The Ojai Valley Inn will be up there in price (we looked here, but not at the barn location....i'm guessing it is still very expensive). We also looked at the Camarillo Ranch House barn. It is VERY reasonable, but books way in advance. We were trying to book about 7 months in advance and they had no sats available for the entire year...they did have some Fri/suns...if you are really looking for 2012 you might be in luck. They do a lot of community events there so they book fast.

The one that comes to mind is miravilla gardens. I didn't choose it because I didn't want the rustic barn look, which it really excels at. It is beautiful.

Have you tried looking at WeddingCelebrations.com ? This is a great site for Ventura and Santa Barbara county wedding locations. Maravilla Gardens has a barn and be just what you're looking for. Hi Bees!!
I have started my search for the perfect venue!! I want to start my list of venues to visit, and my dream has always been a big barn full of lights....(well at least since I saw The Proposal) =o). I had my heart set on Eucalyptus Lanes, but since the owner turned out to be a scam artist and has since closed, we are out of luck. We live in Ventura County as well as most of our family and friends, with some coming from the LA area. Does anyone know of a great rustic location (preferably with a a barn reception area) in the Santa Barabara/Ventura/SF valley area?
