@dr1998: Hi we looked at the Gramercy Park Hotel too. I spoke with this woman:

@dr1998: As far as cost goes, we were quoted $275 per person for a family style dinner. I also looked at their cocktail style reception and that had a minimum spend of $15,000 with 22% service charge.
Have you looked into loft spaces? They can be pretty modern/minimalist with great city views. My brother had his wedding at the Puck Building and I recently went to an anniversary celebration at Loft 11.
(The most amazing NYC loft & outdoor space I have ever seen is 620 Loft & Garden, but that price point is much more than $200pp. Gorgeous to look at though!)
Hello! I'm getting married at Central Park Boathouse. I believe it is definietly within your price range (we're paying $165 per person, but we're doing a Friday night, and prices may have increased for next year...). Feel free to PM me with any questions :)
Thanks, everyone. I will certainly look at Loft 11 and your other suggestions. I always imagined that we would choose a raw space like a loft but when I realized all of the work - and extra cost - of bringing in food, chairs, etc., I kind of decided to lean toward a hotel or more full-service space. But, I will look into these - some places certainly make it easier than others. Any other suggestions, please send them my way!
Thanks!
@dr1998: Hi, just wondering, which venue did you eventually decide upon? I have booked a loft and am going through the same questions in my head; is the space worth the extra cost and work! So just wondering which you wound up selecting!

Hi all -
I would love any information people have on the Gramercy Park Hotel. I have had an impossible time reaching them. Does anyone know cost or who I should reach out to? I am hoping for a Feb 2011 wedding for 75-100 people.
Also, any thoughts on other wedding venues in Manhattan that are simple, elegant with a bit of a modern flare and windows (think River Cafe, Boathouse, Gramercy Park Hotel, Braynt Park Grill) - but hopefully in the $175-200/pp range? 91 Horatio Street and Union Square Ballroom seem intriguing to me. Are they nice inside? Like I said, I am really hoping for something simple, elegant with candles and lights (twinkly).
Thoughts?
Thanks so much. I am new to this and basically clueless. :)
