why can’t you spread it out so the max at a table is 11 instead of all 10, two with 11, and one with 12? just have 3 with 11 and none with 12

I would just go with the 10s, 11s, and 12s.  My tables are uneven too.  In theory it would work great if the tables were all even, but like you there is just no way to do it without breaking apart couples and having very random tables.   People will have more fun being by people they know or would get along with and be a little more crammed than have more room but no one to talk to.  My venue has that size tables too and they said 8-12 people, with 12 being a bit crammed, but doable.  If numbers change last minute you can always move people around a bit to even out the tables (I had a whole family of 4 cancel on me just 7 days before…. really frustrating!)

julesbeeb:  We have the same size tables, and our coordinator said that depending on your chairs (we’re using Chivari chairs), 12 people fit fine. I don’t think we’ll have to do that because of our size, but if we did, it’s definitely doable!
