Well, the only place I know of is the Mahler Ballroom. But they only allow outside catering not liquor.
I'd say shop around a bit. KoC can be a viable option.
Sorry I couldn't be more help!
We had our wedding and reception at the Hawken House in Webster Groves and they allow you to do it youself. We hired a bartender and bought the alcohol ouselves and saved a lot of money.
I agree with lisabrueck - the Hawken House is great!
But you said South City - there are several halls and locations in S city.
There is an event location service that might help.

Hey girls!
I'm getting married in south city in april/may/june 2011. I was wondering if any of you guys could recommend a venue not far from south city/downtown (within 1/2 hour? 45 minutes tops) that will allow us to provide our own caterer and liquor? We're *really* hoping to use noodles and company cuz they're perfect for us and buying alcohol from a caterer/venue is pricey.
I've been thinking of maybe Knights of Columbus but the only brick and mortar building I know of is in Lemay and the chapter websites (if they have them) aren't exactly set up to handle wedding shopping. I know the best thing is to contact them directly, I just haven't gotten around to it and I'd like to see what else is out there first.
Any thoughts?
Thanks guys!
