Even though I’m not engaged (yet) my boyfriend and I have talked about our future wedding. He wants to have an outside wedding at a “non-church” venue, I guess you would say. As for me, I would much rather have a church wedding, I dont mind having an outside wedding but I guess when I thought of myself getting married, I always had in mind a church wedding. I’ve asked him why he wants to get married outside and he said its much prettier. I’m glad that he gives me his opinion on things though, instead of him being not involved at all, except for saying the “I do” part lol.
But I dont know why I’m so torn about this.

Wait until you are engaged to worry about it.

Is there any way you can compromise on this? Like a church garden or something?

I also wouldn’t stress about it until you’re engaged, but when you do discuss it then look at a ton of venues. You might find a church that’s really pretty and you both love it. Or maybe you can pick the ceremony site and he can pick the reception site. Just find a nice way to compromise. If one of you gives in begrudgingly, it won’t be as meaningful or fun 🙂

I’m sure when it comes down to it, we will eventually compromise. He’s stubborn as an ox though!
I won’t be extremely upset, like “omg my wedding day is forever ruined” kind of upset if we get married at a non-church venue.
I got to remember that our wedding isn’t just mine, its his also.
