I had my reception at Maggianos in Schaumburg.  The staff was absolutely incredible.  They have several private spaces that would accommodate that size and it is definitley old world traditional style. They won’t let you cater your own food (they are a restaurant though- so not your typical banquet hall food), but even the most expensive plan (with full bar and sweet table in addition to a full meal) comes to around 110 after taxes and fees are calculated in (less than 100 before that, and they have many plans for even less).  You really get the most for your money there, and the staff went SO out of there way for us throughout the whole process and on our wedding day.  There really aren’t any places around that let you cater your own food (some have a prefered list of caterers where you get some choice, but not free range).

Hey there.  I live in Schaumburg but I’m a south sider so our wedding will be at Drury Lane.  But when we were considering the NW burbs we looks at Meridian, The Seville, European Chalet and Crystal Chalet.  I don’t know if they will let you cater your own food, but they were all pretty reasonable and looked nice.
