    Hi Ladies,

Have any of you been to or are you planning a Hudson Valley wedding at a venue with views of the river?

I'm familiar with a few, but I would like to know of more (even small venues that would be good for RDs, showers, small weddings).

    Thanks!

The Grand View would be my top pick if you want something with a river view. The weddings I've worked/attended have been pretty flawless and are always gorgeous. The food is fantastic too.

West Point (Thayer Hotel) has beautiful views too. Great wedding spot.

Other restaurants (for showers, RDs, etc.) in the Poughkeepsie area:

    Amici's     www.amicis-restaurant.com

    Riverstation    www.riverstationrest.com

Shadows on the Hudson (part of The Grand View complex) www.shadowsonthehudson.com

    Cosimo's    www.cosimospoughkeepsie.com

Torches (other side of the river- Beacon, NY) They also do catered boat tours on the Hudson- that are AWESOME!     www.torchesonthehudson.com

There's plenty more I'll let you know if I think of more.

There are some fantastic historic mansions overlooking the river that would be great for weddings too. Check out this site.

and The Clermont Historic Site. The website is hoaky but the place is definitely worth a look.

I'm getting married at the Grandview and am very pleased so far - but there's also the Dutchess Manor in Garrison, which was recently renovated.

The Chalet on the Hudson in in Cold Spring is another one!

(I'm also getting married at the Grandview!)
