I *almost* became one, but sadly, with alterations and a blingy belt it would have been too much.

This is the dress I would have chosen- the Ghillian- but I would have made it straight across instead of a-symetrical.

Hey girls, I have a question for you.

I will be wearing Harlow in October and I was going to buy my veil at Vera, but the price tag seems steep (I think thats where they really make alot of money). I was thinking of getting the same style from her sub-line –White by Vera Wang. My question is, do you girls think the ivory will be the same ivory between both lines? I wouldnt want the shade to be too different from my dress. At the same time, I feel stupid spending close to 1000$ on a veil I will have on for like 30mins.

What do you think!?

Here’s mine!  Well, not my actual dress, but the Eleanor.  I go in for my first fitting tonight!

@liz.couture:  Don’t know what type of veil you’re looking at, but I got a cathedral veil from Vera for $175.  I know it’s only tulle, but tht seemed pretty reasonable to me.

@JBing:  Really? from the VW store or from David’s Bridal? I wanted to order a cathedral length two-tiered plain tulle and it was 890$! The one from her White collection is like 168$… I’m just hoping the color will come out the same…

@liz.couture:  Yep!  From the new Flagship Vera Wang store in Chicago.  Some of the other ones with blushers I was looking at were in the $200-300 range, too

@liz.couture:  I have an ivory “Gemma” gown, and also an “ivory” chapel length veil from Vera Wang. To be honest, the ivory veil and the ivory in the dress look different to me, and they are both from Vera Wang (not David’s Bridal).

When you have the veil on though, you can’t really notice. When I have the veil folded and stored in it’s bag, it looks much more white than ivory, but when it’s clipped on my head it looks fine.

If you were to get an ivory veil from DB, I don’t think it would make much of a difference to the naked eye once it’s on your head. It’s so sheer that it would take on the ivory colour of your gown anyway.

Here is my gown, the “Gemma” with the veil.
