I think its a beautiful dress but I think you are right about the prego look. I also have a large chest and I found that form fitting dress work better.
Hi Amcati, that is a beautiful dress, scissors BM dress! I second it being most likely the wrong choice for a large chested bride. I have a large chest and also need to wear something that emphasizes my waist or else I just look pregnant. Doesn't matter that I'm thin, no empire waist. The good news is there are plenty of designers out there that have more fitted trumpet/mermaid dresses with the same 'flowy' look. Try bringing a picture of this to a bridal salon!
Good luck!
I like the dress but it may not work for you. I say that because I have a large chest and I have never been able to wear anything designed by Vera Wang. Everything I have ever tried on by her makes my chest look obscene. If you can't try that exact dress on, you can get a feel for how Vera shapes her clothes by trying on some of her clothing line at Kohl's stores. Obvs. those are the cheap versions but I have tried on pieces of her expensive line too and not one thing has ever looked good on me and it is always because of my chest. She just seems to design for smaller-chested women.
i like the dress - but im thinking you will get the preggo look - every dress i tried on that was empire waisted or wasnt fitted thru the waist made me look preggo. im a 32GG and a street size 8 on bottom (sometimes six depending on the brand).
like snmcdowell said - vera wang is not made for well endowed women - neither is monique lhuillier (i looked like a street walker in her dresses!!!) honestly try on something similar and see how it looks. i just think you will get the preggo look - especially if you add a jacket to it.
dropped waists, princess cuts, pretty much anything with a defined waist help to balance you out when you are big busted.
hey!
I am ordering this dress in for my bridesmaids, and we recently tried them on at the store.. the sizes are WAY out of whack. My friend who normally wears a 12 was in a size 16 - and also the top was snug and very boobylicious.. they are all ordering a few sizes up.. VERY important to check the size chart because you wil need a bigger size than you normally wear..
howver, the dress was very flattering and looked nice on all the girls (size 2, 10, 16 and the largest girl is a street 16 and I'm a 14-16 and could not fit in the sample 16 at all).. so hopefully it will look good on her as well, seeing as she's the MOH. The sizes do go up to 28 though.
Hope that helped!
Thanks for all the helpful comments - oh I am so torn...
The atlanta store doesn't have the dress in my size to try on :(

I love this dress for my wedding gown. Even if it doesn't come in white... I plan to wear a pretty white cardigan/bolero with whatever dress I choose - because I am self-conscious about my arms and I have DDD breast - with permanenet bra strap dips in my shoulders...
Anyway - I know that Empire waist dresses are not always the best choice for large breast women -because sometimes it can make one look like she is with child... but I am not sure about this one as it has a wider sash in the middle.
I am about an 18 in street clothing with ddd breast - Do you think this dress is a mistake? Will I look prego?
