I want to see a wedding day photo of you in this dress!
It took me 3 trips to DB to find this dress. I am a size 16 and I was a little worried how I would look in it. I have been IN LOVE with this dress since Feb. To my surprise it works! When I walked out of the dressing room I looked at my MOH's face and knew it was my dress. I am not sure if I am going to do the sash or not. I think the dress is a piece of art on its own. I like the way the dress moves when I walk. It looks heavy but its very easy to carry and pick up. I can't wait to wear it in MAY!!
I'm actually looking at getting the short version of this dress for my RD.
You can always use the flowers on the sash to pin in your hair, so they will not go to waste :-)
I like PPs idea of putting the flowers in the sash in your hair. I agree, the dress is a piece of art on its own. BTW it certainly does work for you. You look great in that dress!
The dress looks gorgeous on you, and is really flattering like it was made for you. However, the sash cheapens it imo. I almost bought this dress, and loved it without the sash as it elongates the waist more.
I had sash issues too! :) Here's my sash thread from a few months ago.

Here's my wedding day shots.

I think it'll look nicer without the sash, but I also like the thicker sash the PP posted. The one you are wearing now looks kind of like an afterthought. Gorgeous dress, and you look STUNNING in it!
wow they look gorgeous on you.
Girls! I recently bought this same one. BUT mine has no volume at all. It's just so flat. It's totally different when I tried the trial one at the store.
Is it because it hasn't been steamed? Or mine is defected one?
I am very frustrating T.T
I bought this dress too! I think it's flat bc it hasn't been steamed.
Were you wearing a slip with your dress? Just wondering... I haven't bought my undergarmets yet. I'm hoping I don't have to break down and give more of my money to DB.
You look so, so pretty in your dress BTW!
someone mentioned the "short version" of this dress, but I can't find it ANYWHERE. does someone have a pic or a link of where I can find it?
@happiness1123: Mine puffed up after I left it out of the bag for a day or two. It also frayed a little before my wedding which drove me crazy! I guess that's bound to happen though since the ends aren't seamed.
@lovelea: I bought the slip from David's and hated it! It has a liner, but whenever you walk the scratchy part rides up your legs like crazy! I ended up returning it.. I didn't sign the receipt so they took it back YAY! I had a bustle put in.. really I shouldn't have paid for it, it was just a satin button and a thread loop, but that gave mine much more fullness in the back. Plus, I was so overwhelmed the day of my wedding, I totally forgot that I had the loop attached and wore the bustle up all day long! :) I didn't even notice until our pictures came back!
@bunnyfoofoo: The short version is in the bridesmaid dress section. VW360012 Only $198!

i think it would look good with a sash, just not the sash you are wearing with it in the picture. I would go with something THICKER. also, I do not think the flowers on the sash match the style of the gown.
@happiness1123: I think it's two things -> Height and petticoat. Once you wear short heeled shoes and put a petticoat on underneath you will get more volume.
I noticed this when I first wore it. It was puffy, then I wore ultra high heels -> not puffy at all, and when I didn't have a pettticoat underneath it had even less volume!
I was wearing a plain slip under the dress...I am only 5'3 so i think thats why is looks poofy. I plan on wearing 4" heels so i don't have to worry about hemming the dress. I don't want to loose any skirt. Now what do I do for a bustle?
OH! my bridesmaids are wearing the shorter version in Gray. They love it! My colors are Yellow and Gray .
Here is my link to my pictures....I debated back and forth between sash or no sash and I'm happy I left it as is! But I also like the look of a sash..totally up to you...
@Ktmcp5899: You look beautiful! I am so excited now! Is your dress white/ivory? It's just that photographers add so much glow, just wondering how my dress will look in the pictures. :)
My dress was ivory. I LOVED it. It was really comfortable but one of my bustle points broke before I even got it on so it was only half bustled which was fine I just had to lift up the dress to dance :)
Thanks everyone! It was a great day!
I wore the fit and flare. My 2nd seamstress had ribbon sewn onto the tulle underneath so a know could be tied so the tulle didn't look so messy once the bustle was up. I was trying find the post to that was asking about heming the front. I can't find it, so hopefully she sees what I posted as a response......... 2 more days to go..........
By the way I think the dress looks better with a sash. If you want glam wear a rhinestone belt, if you want romantic go the flowers........ but then again I am having tulle flowers with birdcage netting and rhinestone trim.... vw rhinestone belt at the front and the other vw horsehair belt behind me. I don't know if this will look good. Tomorrow I will put it all together. My veil.. I decided to do what I always dreamt about and that was having lace and it being very long. It only happens once, so do what you have always imagined it. That way you also have different looks in photos as well. :)
LOVE the sash! I love sashes and bows and sparkly details and a little color. Looks great. You look fantastic in it - that first photo.:) I loved this in blush - it was so pretty - wish I were taller and had good shoulders!
Like the new sash better... You should try it with a sash that has some bling all the way around and see how that looks, instead of just the cluster in the middle. Good luck!
If anyone ahs the Vera Wang Ivory Walking veil I woulld be interested in purchaing it from you.
Would need before the 1st of May of next year.
PM me if you have one :)
If i end up buying it, i'll be more than happy to sell it to you. Want to "split the cost with me?"
@Qitty: I think I might have been able to purchase from another bee and our weddings are very close together that I would worry about shipping time.
Thanks for offering though :)
Go with a sash, it will define your waist more than not wearing one.
