My friend's dad's band just played her wedding in Bennington, VT and it was literally one of the most fun nights of my life, the band was ROCKING!!! And they specialize in 60's and 70's tunes...Here's the website, I highly highly highly recommend them!! I think they are a 6 or 7-piece band, complete with a horn section...Soooo fun!
Ooh! I like their sound a lot...and I'm pretty sure I've played with their trumpet player in my old college jazz band. This is a great lead, thanks for the suggestion!!!
I used Gigmasters.com to find mine. There's also a band....Alessi Band. Their contact is Phil Abair and his email is pabair@bestbands.com.
We're doing string quartet and iPod instead of a band, but that was one I found. :)
Phil Abare is a GREAT band! But they are definitely pricey! We used Sturcrazie - another local band. The guys were really great and so much fun! I'd recommend them any day!

Hello VT ladies! I am planning a wedding for September of 2010 at the Alerin Barn in St. Jay. I have a band in mind from Northampton, MA, but due to travel, I would like to look into other bands within the state. Here's the thing. I am a native Vermonter, but have been living in MA for almost 8 years now. Because of this I have gotten somewhat out of touch with the local scene..much to my dismay.
Are there any bands that you might recommend for a fun night of barn dancing? My family loves to dance, especially to funky tunes from the 60s and 70s.
