My husband and I are not actively TTC in that I’m not charting, temping or timing BDing with ovulation. However, we’re also not preventing, so anything is possible and we would both be happy if we were to become pregnant before our planned TTC time frame. I do keep track of my cycle on an app on my phone. My regular cycle length is 30-33 days. I’m fairly regular with small fluctuations occasionally, but usually it’s pretty much the same time every month.
Last month we BD twice within a few days of when I believe I ovulated based on CM. I had very sore breasts for about a week before my period was due along with occasional dizziness.
This month my period was two days late, although still within my regular cycle length range. However, usually it’s quite heavy for about three days with two days of much lighter brownish discharge. This month it was bright red with clear CM spread throughout. It was fairly light in comparison with normal flow and lasted on 2 days. The third day I brown little bit of brown discharge only after using the bathroom.
I took a FRER test today (3 days after this period) and it was negative. It was not FMU but was after a 4-5 hour hold with little to drink. I’m confused as to whether this period could have been implantation bleeding and the HCG just may not be high enough or what’s going on. Anyone have anything similar and needed up getting a BFP eventually?

I’m kind of in the same boat as you right now… AF is barely late (due today at the latest) and I’m just spotting, took tests a few days ago and all were negative. It’s possible you are pregnant but it’s also possible your just having a weird month, I had one of those a couple months ago (and maybe again?). Sorry I wasn’t much help.

the brown could be because it came late… that happens to me when my cycle lasts longer than usual.
has anything changed in your diet or have you been taking any different meds or anything? your lining thickness could have changed. if you have a thinner lining, you’d have less of a flow.
if you were to start temping, you could see if your temp were still elevated or not. it would keep you from having confusing situations like this in the future. with an implantation, you could have a dip and then the temp would raise up again, or it would just stay up without a dip. and if it’s your period, your temp would lower and stay low.

Nothing has changed. I usually have brown, but usually I have much more of it and usually only have red during the first day or two.
I’ve thought of temping, the bigest issue is that I’m a nurse who works both day and night shifts and not in a specific schedule, it changes every week, month etc, so I can’t see how I could possibly take my temperature at the same time every day, which if I understand correctly, is what you need to do to properly chart your temps.

Ive found that since TTC, about once a year i will have a really crazy cycle.its either crazy late but my latest weird one is exactly what you are describing. Very light,(normally very heavy) hardly worth even using a pad or anything. I spoke to my doc over the phone and he said to count that as my period. Basically what in trying to say is that every now and again things just get a little haywire. Oddly enough my weird cycle always happens in/around April every year!
