My dog had an issue with a nail (it was splitting on the side) and I took her to the Vet to be seen (because I was concerned it would split if cut at the groomer).
Long story short – her nails and quicks were cut SHORT. I heard her yelping in pain when it was being done. 🙁 and now I see the blunt edges, the spots where they put powder, and what I’m assuming is the quick end at the end of her nail.
We usually go for a 2 mile walk at night and I’m wondering if I should cut it short. It’s her potty walk (the only time she’ll do her business) so I have to walk her… just wondering if anyone has any thoughts on what surfaces to avoid, etc. and how long is typical for dogs to need to recover after such a thing.
Thanks in advance!!
