    Hi Bees,

So last week, I ordered the Victoria's Secret Slimtastic High-Waist Thigh Shaper to wear to my final dress fitting...I was looking for something with more Suck-In-Ness than spanx and figured I'd try this beauty out:

    http://www.victoriassecret.com/ss/Satellite?ProductID=1265437263184&c=Page&cid=1300104439944&pagename=vsdWrapper&search=true

My verdict?  This works for me.  It made me feel much "firmer." My dress slid over it easily, and while I personally experienced no suck-in-ness with Spanx, I think that on a scale of 1-10 of suck-in-ness, I'd give this a 4.  But I give Spanx a 1, so that's my frame of reference.  The kicker for me was that VS makes this in a size XS, and I feel that is the difference between this shapewear and Spanx for me, because Spanx starts at small. So I like the range.

Oh, AND this one has the, er, open crotch thing happening, which will really come in handy for the restroom on the wedding day.  It makes no mention of that in the item info., so I wasn't expecting it, and when I got it on after tugging and jumping and wiggling it up, I thought I had torn it - haha!

Now, with all that being said, if I did not in fact have a very fitted dress, possibly even if I didn't have a corset strap-me-up-and-in dress, this wouldn't work.  It would absolutely roll down in normal clothing or with any dress that didn't force it to stay up.  In my dress, it can't roll down.  But in any of my other clothes, I would be wrestling it all day.

So the end result is that I do think this is pretty good shapewear and also not an awful price, as it's cheaper than spanx tends to be.  But this particular piece is only going to work with your very fitted bodices. I think I'd like to try other pieces from this line, like the ones that are not longline, just to see how they function for everyday...

I also ordered a fresh new Very Sexy strapless bra, which I'm just going to go ahead and say is the most love a strapless bra can give you:) I love Very Sexy bras, that's what I wear everyday, and I've been pretty impressed with the "oomph" the strapless gives.  If you need a strapless bra, this bra is your friend...It will give you good push-up, and your dress will still fit:

Hope this helps somewhat!  I know last week we went back and forth on the boards about shapewear!!!

Yay, I was hoping you would post a review!  This makes me very happy as I just ordered a similar version of the shape wear and the same strapless bra!!  I'm not getting mine for a month when I visit my mom, but I'll also post a review.  My dress is a ballgown with a corset back so I went back and forth wondering if if I needed anything, but figured I'd try it out - I'll take any help I can get.

@jholler25: I went out and bought the very sexy strapless because of your post! Sort of, I use to wear them every day but I noticed they would get out of shape easily and make my boobs look funky, but for a one time use like my wedding day, great!

But I actually got a different one than yours, its the new sexy miraculous strapless bra=LOVE. My boobs look so much better than the bustier that I bought (pushed up my back, creating the illusion of extra back flab, yuck), I did go a whole cup size smaller because the C made my boobs look like visited the plastic surgeon...

@Heatherloveskenny:  Glad I could sort of help!!!   Hmmm, I didn't try on the Miraculous because going up 2 cup sizes scared me as far as my dress fitting me, but I never considered trying it in a size smaller so as to only add ONE cup size....Very clever, heatherloveskenny...Very clever:)

Ok, I'm glad I'm not the only one who thinks Spanx does nothing - SUCH a waste of money, IMO.

thanks so much for posting this!!  i have been debating whether i want/need to wear something under my dress.  i don't WANT to because i'm worried i'll be so hot.  but i'm worried about back rolls (different from back flab) showing while i'm wearing my dress.  i want to look smooth.  i would prefer the slip looking version though, just because i've worn a shaper with the crotch hole and it feels like you're still wearing undies when you're trying to do your thing, which makes it hard to go since we're SO trained not to do that, and um.. tends to still get wet.  pretty uncomfortable, in my experience. :(
